Walk of Honor
The Walk of Honor is located at the flag pole on the grounds of Faith United Methodist Church, 15101 S. 80th Avenue, Orland Park, IL 60462.

The Walk of Honor was created as a place where members of the community of veterans would be remembered. Veterans, their friends, and their families will find this a quiet place to reflect on what our veterans have contributed to our country and our way of life. The site is lighted 24/7, making it accessible at all times.
(Below) The Walk of Honor is ready for the dedication ceremony.
The Walk of Honor is a living tribute to all veterans discharged under honorable conditions, with no prejudice based on branch of service, rank, race, creed, sex, or religion. We use the term “living tribute” because twice each year (Memorial Day and Veterans Day) we add new members to the Walk of Honor.
(Below) All veterans discharged under honorable conditions are welcome. All are represented.
There are currently 176 veterans honored with an engraved paver in the Walk of Honor. Veterans from World War I to the present day are honored. Male and female veterans are included. Members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine are included. Pavers represent personnel of all ranks, from private to general. We honor those who did not come home as well as those who did. Some served in more than one branch of service. There are two married couples side-by-side, both having served. There are nine sets of fathers and sons, and two sets of brothers. Time in service spanned the gamut from mere months to decades.
Planning for the Walk of Honor began in September 2017. Site work took place from March to June 2018, and included removal of a large tree from the site, removal of a section of curb and installation of a small concrete ramp. Installation of the Walk of Honor, the placement of the memorial bench, flower pots, flag holders and statuary completed the site. The Walk of Honor was dedicated with a ceremony on July 7, 2018.
An upgrade to the Walk of Honor was planned in early 2019. The upgrade included professional installation of a patio for guest seating during ceremonies and a walkway to connect the patio to an access sidewalk. The installation of the upgrade was completed in November 2019 (photo below).
The Veterans Voices Military Group, Inc. Board of Directors decided to dedicate the walk way to the patio/seating area as the Memorial Walk, in honor of our members who have passed away. The Memorial Walk was dedicated on Sunday, May 26, 2024 as part of our ten year anniversary and Memorial Day 2024 observances. The pavers memorializing twelve of our brothers are pictured below. To learn more about these men please visit the “Those Remembered” page on this web site.
Unfortunately, three more of our brothers passed away at the end of 2025. Their pavers were added to the Memorial Walk on Memorial Day 2026. (See below)
We are accepting orders for pavers to be installed for Veterans Day 2026. Each paver ordered costs $65 total (taxes and shipping included). The cutoff date for these orders is Monday September 14, 2026.
